ID Verification

While numerous ID verification services populate the market, our team carefully selected Trust ID as the optimal solution for our needs. However, if your organisation already partners with an ID verification provider, we offer seamless integration into your existing onboarding workflow.

The ID verification process is conducted using cutting-edge facial recognition software, which matches the user’s selfie with their ID document. Furthermore, Trust ID conducts thorough checks across global databases to ensure that the presented ID has not been reported stolen or misused, safeguarding against fraudulent activities during the verification process.

Eligibility To Work

Many companies assert their ability to automatically verify an individual’s ‘right to work,’ but it’s important to note that there is no open API available to access government databases for this purpose. Any company claiming otherwise may be misguiding you. Moreover, even if such checks were possible, it remains your responsibility to ensure that a user possesses legal authorisation to work in the UK.

At our platform, we streamline this process by collecting a person’s national insurance number (NI) and validating its format to ensure accuracy. We also cross-reference it against our database to prevent duplication. The NI number or Share code is then prominently displayed on the user’s profile. This enables you to utilise the GOV.UK online services to independently verify the legitimacy of the provided data, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Skill Check

We leverage all accessible APIs to automatically verify the validity of a user’s skills card. Subsequently, we showcase the information retrieved from the API on the user’s profile while diligently tracking any expiration dates.

In the event of a failed automatic skills card check, the user will be prompted to provide photos of both the front and back of their card for manual verification. Simultaneously, the company responsible for onboarding the user will receive a notification indicating the failed skills card check, enabling them to take any necessary follow-up actions. Although users can still proceed with the onboarding process, their profile will remain inactive until approved by a designated manager.

Personal Details

In order to facilitate the creation of the user’s profile, we request fundamental yet vital personal information, including:

• Address
• Next of Kin
• Emergency Contact
• Email

Subsequently, this information is prominently displayed on the user’s profile, ensuring convenient access for recruiters.

Employment Type

This section allows users to choose the type of employment they are seeking and subsequently provide the relevant information based on their selection.

In the construction industry, there are three primary types of employment: PAYE, CIS, and Limited Company. For PAYE, we request a copy of their latest P45. For CIS, we ask for their personal UTR number. In the case of Limited Company employment, we require the company name and number, which we then verify using an API against the Companies House database.

Following the submission of this information, it is seamlessly integrated and displayed on the user’s profile for easy reference.

Of greater importance, this information will be readily accessible to recruiters in the event of any incidents occurring while the user is at work, ensuring prompt and appropriate responses to any health-related concerns.

Document Signing

The document signing process holds significant importance in the registration procedure. Documents can be seamlessly incorporated into a user’s assignment, allowing for customisation to suit each unique assignment the user undertakes. Subsequently, users are prompted to read through and digitally sign the documents, confirming their comprehension and acceptance of the content. To finalise this step, users are required to input their password as confirmation of acceptance.

A duplicate of the signed document is then securely stored on the user’s profile, ensuring accessibility for review at any given time.

250,000 More Construction Workers Needed in the Next 4 Years

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has estimated that the industry requires an additional 250,000 workers over the next four years. 

As part of its annual Migration Survey, the organisation found that 41% of construction employers will be focused on increasing the skills of British workers as access to immigrant falls rapidly as a result of Brexit. 

Close to a third (30%) say they will provide more permanent job contacts to Brits. Close to a quarter (24%) will increase minimum salaries, and 16% will look to take on more local apprentices. Overall, a huge 250,000 jobs are expected to be advertised.
